Aran Valley is a Spanish region located on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees. Belonging to the province of Lérida, autonomous community of Catalonia. It has an extension of 620 km of which 30% of the territory is above 2,000 m of altitude.

It limits to the north with France, to the south with Alta Ribagorza and Aragón, to the east with Pallars Sobirà, and to the west, again, with Aragon and France. This small region has approximately 10,000 inhabitants and its capital is Vielha, seat of its own autonomous government, the Conselh Generau d'Aran.

Three co-official languages ​​coexist in this region: Aranese, Catalan and Spanish.
